Inspiration
In an interview with ABC News, Luke Thill mentioned in an interview that in October 2017 he came across a video about a tiny house idea that sparked his interest and he then began searching for other videos on YouTube. This was the perfect inspiration that the man needed. Luke said in the interview that it felt as though he was obsessed with the idea of tiny houses, and decided he needed to build his own.

Unlike Other Kids
The YouTube videos may have given Luke the inspiration to build his own tiny house, although, that was not the only motivation that he had. During the summer vacation, Luke felt that he was getting bored and that he was not doing enough to prevent himself from being lazy. Unlike most other kids who would find solace in laying around the house and indulging in PlayStation games, Luke ambitioned for greater things! This was no layabout, that was for sure.
